Originally from Latvia, Paula is an award-winning violinist based in London. She completed her Bachelor and Master of Performance degrees with distinction at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and during her studies she already appeared on prestigious international stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and the Berlin Konzerthaus.

In addition to her active performance career, Paula is a dedicated educator, nurturing the next generation of musicians. She serves as Head of Strings at Wetherby Senior School, teaches at Guildhall Young Artists, and contributes as a Trustee of Talent Unlimited. Her path crossed with Philip in 2025, and she joined Ihle Violins in September of the same year.

At Ihle Violins, Paula combines her musical expertise with her passion for craftsmanship. She tests instruments in the workshop, ensuring they play and sound beautifully and effortlessly. She also manages the workshop’s administration, overseeing the majority of non-violin-making operations.
